This two part release features the most seminal output by Martin Bonds who truly is one the most underrated techno artists from Detroit and often remains uncredited when it comes to the history of Detroit Techno, although he has been an inherent part of it since the early years. Maybe some of you remember the classic Marty Hardy mixes on KMS - yeah, that's him too! Each and every of the six tracks is a undeniable timeless classic, which embodies the true soul and spirit of Detroit as well as the youthful enthusiasm and power from the pioneering years of techno.

Some of the tracks are now seeing a proper release for the first time, due to the fact that they had been only released as a limited white-label on Juan Atkins Metroplex sublabel, Interface Records in 1990 and 1991. So it is no wonder that the original Surkit 12" remains one of the most sought after Detroit techno records out there. Not to forget to mention that this retrospective also features a very rare collaboration with legendary Anthony Shake Shakir called Serene!

To remain true to Detroit artists, the artwork for this project was created by the one and only Abdul Haqq from Third Earth Visual Arts who has been giving Detroit techno (Underground Resistance, Transmat, Red Planet etc) a unique look since the late 80s. To obtain the most out of these classics all tracks have been restored by Don Williams and remastered by Redshape. We hope you enjoy this classic music as much as we do, because this is the real thing and this is just the reintroduction of Reel By Real for some new action in 2011!
